OUR STORY
No one should have to struggle alone.
No one should have to guess where to turn.
And no one should ever feel ashamed for needing help.
The Givers’ Guide is a first-of-its-kind, comprehensive resource guide created to make sure that when someone needs support—real support—they can actually find it.
With thousands of resources across 80+ categories, the Givers’ Guide connects individuals, families, professionals, and communities to trusted help—clearly, compassionately, and with dignity.
Whether you’re searching for help for yourself, advocating for someone you love, or guiding others as a professional, the Givers’ Guide is here to make the path forward feel a little less overwhelming—and a lot more possible.
What Is the Givers’ Guide?
The Givers’ Guide is a living, breathing network of support—a growing database designed to meet people where they are and help them navigate the full range of human needs.
Mental.
Emotional.
Medical.
Financial.
Educational.
Communal.
And everything in between.
What began as a grassroots resource for the NY/NJ community has grown into a trusted guide used across the United States and expanding internationally—including Israel, England, and beyond.

Why the Givers’ Guide Exists
Too many people are struggling in silence—not because help doesn’t exist, but because it feels impossible to find.
Because:
- They don’t know where to look
- The system feels overwhelming or scattered
- Asking for help feels scary, unsafe, or shameful
- Information is outdated, unclear, or buried
The Givers’ Guide was created to change that.
We believe:
- Help should not be hidden
- Support should not feel confusing
- Needing help should never be a source of shame
Finding help should bring relief and hope—not frustration.

What You’ll Find
Inside the Givers’ Guide are 80+ thoughtfully curated categories of support, including:
- Mental health & therapy
- Crisis intervention & emergency resources
- Medical and specialty care
- Financial assistance & advocacy
- Educational and academic supports
- Family, parenting, and youth services

Each resource is organized with intention—so that when someone is overwhelmed, scared, or unsure, the information feels usable, clear, and accessible.

Built With Care. Used With Trust.
The Givers’ Guide is more than a directory.
It’s a bridge—between need and support, confusion and clarity, isolation and connection.
It is built with:
- Careful organization and intention
- Deep respect for privacy and dignity
- A real understanding of what it feels like to need help
That’s why professionals and community leaders trust it.
And why individuals return to it—again and again.

Meet the Founder
The Givers’ Guide was founded by Frayde Yudkowsky, LSW, LMSW, CTP—a licensed therapist, Certified Trauma Professional, community advocate, and Founder of THRIVE! Mental Health.
Created from both professional expertise and lived experience, the Givers’ Guide reflects a lifelong commitment to one core truth:
People deserve to feel seen, supported, and not alone—especially when they are struggling.
A Living Resource
The Givers’ Guide is not static. It grows, evolves, and responds.
- New resources are added regularly
- Databases expand locally and globally
- Community needs shape what comes next
Because needs change.
And support must grow with them.
You’re Not Alone
If you’re here because you’re hurting—we see you.
If you’re here to help someone else—thank you.
If you’re here because you believe in stronger, more compassionate communities—you belong here.
The Givers’ Guide exists so that when you need help,
you know where to turn.
Finding Help. Giving Hope.
